an excellent series that aired for seven seasons between 2014 and 2020. it chronicles the struggle for survival of 100 young prisoners sent to earth—97 years after a nuclear apocalypse wiped out life on the planet—to save the remnants of humanity living on a space station. upon landing, the youths discover that the planet is not entirely abandoned; they encounter dangerous tribes (the grounders) that have survived the radiation, as well as various other threats.

the series explores survival instincts, moral dilemmas, power struggles for leadership, and the darker aspects of human nature.
